Golfo Aranci

Twenty kilometres northeast of Olbia, at the foot of the Capo Figari promontory, Golfo Aranci — the "Gulf of Crabs" — keeps its distance from the glamour of Porto Rotondo and Porto Cervo next door. Twenty-four beaches ring the village, from the hidden Cala Moresca to Spiaggia Bianca and Cala Sabina by the train station.

The old fishermen's village is now an open-air photo gallery of Marianne Sin Pfältzer's work; the waterfront promenade carries poetry on its benches. Boat tours to hidden grottoes, snorkelling, and hiking trails around Capo Figari — with dolphins sometimes for company — round out a place built for slower days.
